With this wheelset you can really let it rip even in difficult terrain. The indestructible Newmen hubs and the excellently processed ENVE rims forgive a driving error. The balanced selection of components guarantees you a high level of reliability and a long service life.
Hubs
The Newmen FADE hubs will also find many fans again. Here, too, you do not need to worry about setting the axial bearing play. The durable, double-sealed industrial bearings are precisely and stress-free already pressed in at the factory. A high degree of user-friendliness was gained through this further development. You can spend the saved time better on your favorite trail.
The construction of the freewheel is completely different from the previous model. The goal was a low noise level. The result was the FADE pawl system. 3 pawls engage in a new type of tooth profile. To increase durability, the diameter was increased and the individual pawls were made short and wide. This means that the forces generated are distributed over a larger area.
Despite the relatively low weight, security was not compromised. It is better to use a little more material at critical points, like. For example, at the transition between the brake disc and spoke mount, as risking a defect.
rims
ENVE carbon rims are developed by ENVE in the USA and manufactured in compliance with the highest quality requirements at its headquarters in Utah. The engineers at ENVE have years of experience with the use of carbon in the field of cycling and know what requirements a top product like these carbon rims must meet. At ENVE everything is done to utilize the advantages of carbon and to eliminate its disadvantages. So stiff and extremely light rims were developed in which all fibers can run without interruption, which corresponds to the best possible use of the material thickness. This principle has been perfected for the spoke holes, as continuous fiber strands form the mount for the spoke nipples. Aluminum inserts, as are common with other carbon rims, can therefore be dispensed with during production. This reduces the weight and at the same time allows much higher spoke tensions which in turn allow the construction of stiffer wheels.
Wheel construction at R2-Bike
Our wheels are completely assembled by hand by our wheel builders. During the entire construction process, it is important that not only the concentricity is correct, but also that the spoke tension is as even as possible. The special care allows us to give a lifelong guarantee against broken spokes, as long as this was not caused by force!
