With this wheelset you can really let it rip even in difficult terrain. The light and stable NONPLUS Components hubs as well as the excellently processed ENVE rims forgive driving mistakes. The balanced selection of components guarantees you a high level of reliability and a long service life.
Hubs
The small forge from Murr in Baden-Württemberg has been manufacturing lightweight yet stable bicycle hubs since 2018. New concepts are constantly being developed and patents registered so that new standards can also be set in the future.
A hub body, made of high-quality, hard-anodized aluminum, rotates around the elaborately sealed industrial deep groove ball bearings. This has a special ventilation system, which prevents the creation of negative pressure due to temperature fluctuations in the hub. As a result, no water is sucked through the ball bearings, which ensures a significantly longer service life and noticeably easier running of the bearings.
Thanks to high-precision manufacturing and perfect quality control, the hubs of the second generation manage without the previously used adjuster for the bearing play. This means that you always have a perfectly adjusted hub with a smooth, easy run.
The unique freewheel mechanism with bevel teeth of the NONPLUS hubs has approx. 400% more contact surface than conventional systems and enables maximum power transmission with minimal wear. The forces are transmitted over a large area instead of selectively. The 45 defined rest points immediately convert your start into propulsion without much idle travel.
rims
ENVE carbon rims are developed by ENVE in the USA and manufactured in compliance with the highest quality requirements at the company's headquarters in Utah. The engineers at ENVE have many years of experience with the use of carbon in the field of cycling and know what requirements a top product like these carbon rims must meet. At ENVE everything is done to use the advantages of carbon and to eliminate its disadvantages. So stiff and extremely light rims were developed in which all fibers can run without interruption, which corresponds to the best possible use of the material thickness. This principle has been perfected with the spoke holes, in that continuous fiber strands form the mount for the spoke nipples. Aluminum inserts, as are common with other carbon rims, can therefore be dispensed with during production. This reduces the weight and at the same time allows significantly higher spoke tensions which in turn allow the construction of stiffer wheels.
Wheel construction at R2-Bike
Our wheels are completely assembled by hand by our wheel builders. During the entire construction process, it is important that not only the concentricity is correct, but also that the spoke tension is as even as possible. The special care allows us to give a lifelong guarantee against broken spokes, as long as this was not caused by force!
