With this wheelset you can really get it going even in difficult terrain. The indestructible Hope hubs and the excellently manufactured ENVE rims also forgive a driving mistake. The balanced selection of components guarantees high reliability and a long service life.
Hubs
With the Pro 4 hub, Hope has further improved the already very reliable predecessor model. It has a larger flange diameter and thus enables even stiffer and more durable impellers. Known features, such as the diverse anodized colors, the sealed stainless steel bearings and the replaceable end caps, have remained.
The freewheel teeth of the rear wheel axle now have 44 teeth and thus 10% more locking points than before. This results in an empty travel of just 8.2 ° and converts every start into propulsion. In addition, the 4 pawls withstand even the strongest legs. The freewheel body has also been completely redesigned and now comes with two instead of three bearings. In order to ensure durability, they have been dimensioned larger.
rims
ENVE carbon rims are developed by ENVE in the USA and manufactured in compliance with the highest quality requirements at the headquarters in Utah. The engineers at ENVE have years of experience with the use of carbon in the field of cycling and know what requirements a top product like these carbon rims have to meet. At ENVE, everything is done to take advantage of carbon and eliminate its disadvantages. So stiff and extremely light rims were developed in which all fibers can run without interruption, which corresponds to the best possible use of the material thicknesses. This principle has been perfected in the spoke holes by using continuous fiber strands to mount the spoke nipples. Aluminum inserts, as are common with other carbon rims, can thus be dispensed with during production. This reduces the weight and at the same time allows much higher spoke tensions, which in turn allow the construction of stiffer wheels.
Wheel construction at R2-Bike
Our wheels are completely assembled by hand by our wheel builders. During the entire construction, it is important that not only the concentricity is correct, but also that the spoke tension is as even as possible. The special care allows us to give a lifelong guarantee against broken spokes, as long as this has not been caused by violence!
