The Newmen FADE hubs will also find many fans again. Again, you don't need to worry about adjusting the axial bearing play. The durable, double-sealed industrial bearings are stress-free and precisely pressed in at the factory. This further development has gained a high degree of user-friendliness. You can spend the time saved better on your favorite trail.
The design of the freewheel is completely different from the previous model. The goal was low noise. The result was the FADE ratchet system. 3 pawls engage in a new type of tooth profile. To increase durability, the diameter was enlarged and the individual pawls were short and wide. Thus, the resulting forces are distributed over a larger area.
Despite the relatively low weight, safety was not compromised. Better to use a little more material in neuralgic areas, like. E.g. at the transition between the brake disc and spoke holder than risking a defect.

ENVE carbon rims are developed by ENVE in the USA and manufactured to the highest quality standards at the headquarters in Utah. The ENVE engineers have years of experience with the use of carbon in the field of cycling and know what requirements a top product like these carbon rims must meet. At ENVE, everything is done to use the advantages of carbon and eliminate its disadvantages. Stiff and extremely light rims were developed in which all fibers can run without interruption, which corresponds to the best possible utilization of the material strengths. This principle was perfected in the spoke holes, in which continuous fiber strands form the mount for the spoke nipples. Aluminum inserts, which are common with other carbon rims, can therefore be dispensed with during production. This reduces the weight and at the same time allows significantly higher spoke tensions, which in turn allow the construction of stiffer wheels.
Impeller construction at R2-Bike
Our wheels are assembled entirely by hand by our wheel builders. During the entire construction, it is important that not only the concentricity is right, but also that the spoke tension is as even as possible. The special care allows us to give a lifetime guarantee against broken spokes, as long as this is not caused by violence!
