This lightweight yet stable wheelset is the first choice for the committed gravel or cross biker. The high-quality selection of components guarantees you a high level of reliability and a long service life.
Hubs
The bodies of the X-Hub SP hubs are elaborately CNC-milled and rotate around a multi-butted aluminum axis. With a diameter of 17 mm, this brings a good degree of rigidity to the hub. High-quality, double-sealed ball bearings are installed, which ensure a permanently silky smooth run. The axis play can easily be adjusted by hand from the outside. The new pre-load adjustment ring is now easier to operate.
The freewheel on the rear hub engages with four pawls, each with three teeth, in a 56-fold titanium tooth ring, in order to be able to withstand even performance-oriented riders.
The main advantages of the Straightpull hubs, in addition to the more modern design, are non-contact spokes that do not cause any unpleasant noises and spoke heads that cannot work into the spoke flange. If desired, the Straightpull hubs can also be cross-lapped.
rims
ENVE carbon rims are developed by ENVE in the USA and manufactured in compliance with the highest quality requirements at the company's headquarters in Utah. The engineers at ENVE have years of experience with the use of carbon in the field of cycling and know what requirements a top product like these carbon rims must meet. At ENVE everything is done to use the advantages of carbon and to eliminate its disadvantages. So stiff and extremely light rims were developed in which all fibers can run without interruption, which corresponds to the best possible use of the material thickness. This principle has been perfected with the spoke holes, in that continuous fiber strands form the mount for the spoke nipples. Aluminum inserts, as are common with other carbon rims, can therefore be dispensed with during production. This reduces the weight and at the same time allows significantly higher spoke tensions which in turn allow the construction of stiffer wheels.
Wheel construction at R2-Bike
Our wheels are completely assembled by hand by our wheel builders. During the entire construction process, it is important that not only the concentricity is correct, but also that the spoke tension is as even as possible. The special care allows us to give a lifelong guarantee against broken spokes, as long as this was not caused by force!
