DT Swiss 240s
The 240s hubs belong even more than the company name itself to DT Swiss. These hubs have established the reputation of reliable components from Switzerland. The stainless steel bearings of the hubs sometimes last many times longer than many drivers are used to. Added to this is the freewheel system, in which two spring-mounted toothed pulleys mesh. This system keeps even with continuous, high loads without problems and ensures safe propulsion!
The hubs are for the Gößten part on the most common Achstandards about the change of the end caps convertible.
Note: Select the front of the 240S hub with 15 mm thru-axle | IS2000 6-hole disc mount, so we install the 240S OS (Oversized hub + 30g). All other hubs with IS2000 mount are not available with 15 mm thru axle mount . The front Centerlock model always comes as a "Fifteen" variant. Here you have the advantage that the hub can be retrofitted to nearly all axle type standards.
With the MK3, Notubes brings an evolution of their legendary Crest rim on the market. Despite an increased inner width of 2 millimeters, the Americans were able to save 20 grams on the rim and at the same time increase their stiffness. This is made possible by the new rim design inspired by the Valor Carbon rims. Due to the increased inner width of 23 millimeters, the tire gains in volume and sits more stable on the rim at low air pressure. After the Notubes wide-right system, the width of the Crest MK3 has been optimized for 2.0 inch to 2.25 inch tires. The previous version has remained the same over the years refined Bead Socket Technology and the superior tubeless properties. With an extra low rim flange, the tire can fully unfold and the tire volume increases compared to a conventional rim. This leads to a lower rolling resistance and a better damping behavior.
NoTubes Crest MK3
Sapim CX-Ray spokes are so-called knife spokes. The middle part is butted during production to 1.5 mm diameter and flat forged in the last step. These processes provide a solidification of the structure and produce extremely durable spokes.
Wheel construction at R2-Bike
Our wheels are completely assembled by hand by our wheel builders. Throughout the bodywork, it is important to ensure that not only is the concentricity correct, but also that the spoke tension is as even as possible. The special care allows us to give a lifetime warranty against spoke break, as long as it was not caused by violence!
