WILIER frameset Road Filante SLR Disc | velvet red
Wilier Triestina, based in the beautiful Veneto region on the southern edge of the Alps, has stood for high-quality bicycle construction for over 100 years. Early on, they equipped ambitious racers with their bikes and were able to make use of their experience in further development. As a result, they always had a technological edge over the competition and were able to achieve many victories in major races. After an eventful history with many highs, but also some lows, they are still one of the leading representatives of Italian bicycle construction today and continue to provide their fans with high-quality products, set trends and are a source of ideas for the entire industry. Whether mountain bike or road bike, a Wilier will always attract envious glances.
Sprinters and rouleurs will love this frame. In addition to its outstanding aerodynamics, it shines with high stiffness and low weight. These good values are achieved on the one hand through the use of very high-quality carbon fibers, but the position and alignment of these also play a major role. Blunt cuts have been avoided, which requires less material and resin but increases the streamlining. This knowledge can only be achieved through years of acquired know-how.
The visual appearance is in no way inferior to the inner values. The flowing transitions, the flawless finish and the impact-resistant paint testify to a love of detail that is unfortunately not often found in bicycle construction today. The Italians also consistently follow the trend towards total integration right to the end. In addition to the handlebar/stem unit supplied, which blends in perfectly with the appearance, all cables and Bowden cables are routed completely inside. In addition to a clean design, this also enables excellent aerodynamics.
All these features make the frameset interesting not only for professionals, but also for dedicated amateurs who will appreciate the many features and stand out from the crowd.
Unrestricted aerodynamics
The Filante stands for unsurpassed aerodynamics. Whether it's the frame, the seat post or the handlebars, it goes without saying that angular shapes have been avoided everywhere. However, the developers went one step further. They compared the data from the wind tunnel with that from the real world and took into account turbulence, which occurs when cycling and has a negative effect. For example, the distance between the fork legs was increased to avoid braking turbulence between them and the wheel. In addition, internally routed cables ensure a smaller area exposed to wind.
Balance design
In order to achieve the same unique riding experience for every frame size, the dimensions of the main tubes have been selected so that comfort, stiffness and stability always achieve the same high values. Whether you're a small mountain biker or a long rouleur, it's definitely not down to the frame ...
Integrated seat clamp
In addition to the carbon monocoque seat post specially developed for the Filante, the seat clamp is also an interesting feature. A small expander integrated into the top tube ensures a secure fit at all times, has no negative impact on aerodynamics and is a very aesthetic solution.
Handlebar-stem unit
The handlebar/stem unit supplied is made of lightweight carbon in a monocoque design. This not only ensures exceptional stability, but also saves weight. In addition, there is no clamping area to block the wind. The flat top handlebars provide comfortable support for the hands and allow you to ride long distances without getting tired.
As a result of Wilier's own ACCU-FIT system, the handlebar-stem unit has different dimensions depending on the frame size selected in order to provide the optimum riding position for every rider:
Size S: handlebar width (center-to-center): 420 mm, stem length: 101 mm
Size M: Handlebar width (center-center): 420 mm, stem length: 101 mm
Size L: Handlebar width (center-center): 420 mm, stem length: 114 mm
