Description
WILIER frame set Road Filante SLR Disc | black matte
Wilier Triestina, based in beautiful Veneto on the southern edge of the Alps, has stood for high-quality bicycle construction for over 100 years. They equipped ambitious racers with their bikes early on and were able to use their experience in further development. As a result, they have always had a technological edge over the competition and have been able to claim many victories in major races. After an eventful history with many highs, but also some lows, they are still among the leading representatives of Italian bicycle construction and continue to provide their fans with high-quality products, set trends and provide ideas for the entire industry. Whether it's a mountain bike or a racing bike, a Wilier will always attract envious looks.
Sprinters and rouleurs will love this frame. In addition to the outstanding aerodynamics, it shines with high rigidity and low weight. These good values ??are achieved on the one hand through the use of very high-quality carbon fibers, but the position and alignment of these also plays a major role. Blunt cuts were avoided, which requires less material and resin, but increases the aerodynamics. This knowledge can only be achieved through know-how acquired over many years. The optics are in no way inferior to the inner values. The flowing transitions, the flawless workmanship and the impact-resistant paint testify to a love of detail, which unfortunately is not so common in bicycle construction today. The Italians also consistently follow the trend towards total integration to the end. In addition to the supplied handlebar-stem unit, which fits perfectly into the appearance, all cables and Bowden cables are routed completely inside. In addition to a clean design, this also enables excellent aerodynamics. All these properties do not make the frame set interesting for professionals, even the dedicated amateur will learn to appreciate the many features and stand out from the crowd with it.
Unrestricted aerodynamics
The Filante stands for unsurpassed aerodynamics. Whether it's the frame, the seat post or the handlebars, angular shapes were of course avoided everywhere. However, the developers went one step further. They compared the data from the wind tunnel with that from the real world and took into account the turbulence that occurs when cycling and has a negative impact. For example, the distance between the fork legs has been increased to avoid braking turbulence between them and the wheel. In addition, internally routed cables ensure a smaller surface exposed to the wind.
Balance design
In order to achieve the same, unique riding experience with every frame size, the dimensions of the main tubes were selected in such a way that comfort, rigidity and stability always achieve the same high values. It doesn't matter whether it's a small mountain flea or a long rouleur, it's definitely not the frame ...
Integrated seat clamp
In addition to the carbon monocoque seat post specially developed for the Filante, the clamp is also an interesting feature. A small expander embedded in the top tube ensures a tight fit at all times, does not negatively affect the aerodynamics and is a very aesthetic solution.
Handlebar stem unit
The included handlebar stem unit is made of lightweight carbon in a monocoque design. This not only ensures exceptional stability, but also saves weight. In addition, no clamping area opposes the wind. The hands can be comfortably supported by the flat top link and you can ride long distances without any signs of fatigue. As a result of Wilier's own ACCU-FIT system, the handlebar-stem unit has different dimensions depending on the selected frame size in order to provide the optimal seating position for every driver:
Size S: handlebar width (center-to-center): 420 mm, stem length: 101 mm
