Description
WILIER frame set MTB USMA SLR | blue black
Wilier Triestina, based in beautiful Veneto on the southern edge of the Alps, has stood for high-quality bicycle construction for over 100 years. They equipped ambitious racers with their bikes early on and were able to use their experience in further development. As a result, they have always had a technological edge over the competition and have been able to claim many victories in major races. After an eventful history with many highs, but also some lows, they are still among the leading representatives of Italian bicycle construction and continue to provide their fans with high-quality products, set trends and provide ideas for the entire industry. Whether it's a mountain bike or a racing bike, a Wilier will always attract envious looks.
Even in 2023, hardtails are far from being old-fashioned. If you value speed, freedom from maintenance and low weight above all else, you will get a driving pedestal that the competition will only see from behind.
As is usual in the high-end segment today, the USMA SLR consists of high-quality HUS-MOD carbon, which has been processed in a monocoque construction. These fibers stand for low mass, stability, longevity and are surrounded by a special resin. The many years of experience of the Wilier engineers have resulted in a stiff and highly functional frame.
And this is fully trimmed for propulsion. A short rear end ensures unexpected maneuverability, while a good compromise between agility and smooth running has been found with the steering angle of approx. 67.75°. In order to get a lot of pressure on the pedals, the developers decided on a steep 75° seat angle. This puts the driver in an optimal central position and allows him to pedal powerfully. In addition, premature rearing up on steep climbs is effectively prevented.
The optics are in no way inferior to the inner values. The flowing transitions, the flawless workmanship and the impact-resistant paint testify to a love of detail, which unfortunately is not so common in bicycle construction today. In addition, all cables and lines run inside. In addition to an elegant aesthetic, they are well protected from dirt or branches. Furthermore, a silicone coating protects the chain stays from damage and dampens annoying impact noise.
All these properties do not make the frame set interesting for professionals, even the dedicated amateur will learn to appreciate the many features and stand out from the crowd with it.
UDH™ derailleur hanger
By using the UDH™ derailleur hanger, Wilier has prepared this frame for the future. Developed by SRAM, it can be used by any frame manufacturer and aims to end the confusion. In addition, it can protect the rear derailleur from damage by allowing it to move backwards in the event of impacts. The small chamfer on the inside prevents the chain from jamming if the chain falls off a small sprocket.
