The SLX 11-speed cassette impresses with its excellent switching performance, acceptable weight and high wear resistance. Thanks to a fine gradation optimized for 1x11 drives, gear changes are extremely precise and with short shift pauses.
An intelligent material mix of aluminum and steel increases the service life, but at the same time reduces the weight of the cassette. For example, the base body (spider), the lock ring and the largest pinion are made of aluminum to save weight. The remaining pinions, on the other hand, are made of steel, which not only reduces wear, but also generates more rigidity so that the entire force can be converted into propulsion.
