The brake for your next bike adventure.
In cooperation with professionals like Aaron Gwin or Brendan Fairclough, a brake was developed that feels more than at home in both downhill and enduro areas. Radically trimmed for descents, the DH-R doesn't lose its composure even on long, demanding trails.
The brake has been completely reworked for this. The now somewhat slimmer brake levers with their larger 9 mm pistons and an adapted transmission ratio ensure even more braking power. For the necessary stability, 2.3 mm thick and up to 223 mm large brake discs are used, which dissipate heat better and thus deliver consistently good braking performance and are less prone to warping. Ringing brake discs are a thing of the past.
The brake pads have also been revised. The new performance resin (blue) has been optimized in terms of heat stability and now requires less time for the braking phase. If you still don't like the pads, you can of course fall back on metallic or semi-metallic pads. In addition to the original pads, all Shimano Saint pads are suitable.
Further optimizations were made in the area of the brake fluid and the lines. The optimized formulation is more heat-resistant and has a lower viscosity. The reduction in the line cross-section results in higher pressure stability and thus more direct power transmission.
In addition to the brute braking power and stability, the brake also convinces with good controllability.
Suitable matchmakers ensure a tidy cockpit.
Note: The brake lever and caliper with hose are supplied separately. All components are already filled and bled. So all you have to do is attach the cable to the bike, shorten it to fit and mount the lever. Venting is not necessary if handled correctly. Should something go wrong, you will find the right bleeding kit in our shop.
