Why should cross country and marathon riders be on the road with weak brakes? Of course they also want to arrive in the valley without cramping their forearms.
That's why the braking power of the PICCOLA is unparalleled in its class and that's why the gap to the competition is clear. The operation of the brake lever is optimized for one-finger brakes, but a second finger as an emergency anchor still has enough space on the large finger lever. The elaborately CNC-milled brake from the Black Forest is not only a visual highlight, but also beyond any doubt in terms of braking power and stability.
The basis for the C21 brake caliper was the legendary Cleg 2, which has been completely revised technically and visually and offers the best possible stiffness values with the lowest weight.
With the extremely light pump housing and the revised lever design, braking power and stability remain at the usual high level and are even suitable for e-bikes. In order to be able to transfer the higher braking force in a dosed manner, the brake levers have 4 ball bearings and Teflon seals, which makes operation extremely easy. A short piston made of durable and low-friction IGUS J material enables slip-stick-free dosing with high pressure stability.
The special type of handlebar clamp enables the largest possible contact area, which encloses the handlebars almost 360° and does not pass on any notch or point loads. This predestines the PICCOLA for sensitive carbon handlebars, which should be clamped as gently and extensively as possible.
In conjunction with the short-lever statics of the housing, the brake lever is prevented from bending even under heavy lever pull, which defines the pressure point and makes the braking feel even more direct.
Limited edition stealth
Just matte black? Not quite! The Freiburg company is known for its very high quality standards for its products with an impeccable reputation. But what happens to the products that have received tiny scratches within the production chain or show slight color differences in the material? Offering high-end products at dumping prices is not an option. Then just throw it away? Of course, this contradicts the sustainable company concept, and at that point too much work had already gone into the brakes. That's why these brakes are given a second chance. The brakes classified as visually imperfect in the quality control are reworked and given the new matt black finish. Because Trickstuff only offers them if 1. enough components are available and 2. no other brakes are installed, the Stealth Edition is always a limited edition and available irregularly.
