SRAM Red eTap HRD Switch | Brake lever including hydraulic disc brake Postmount
For the eTap group, SRAM not only took over its hydraulic high-end disc brake, it was modified again and got some new features. Due to the elimination of the switching mechanism and the new design of the master cylinder in the selector lever levers, the hoods of the HydroHC are smaller. Thus, they fit more harmoniously into the overall image of the bike and lie even better in the hand. The contact point adjustment also ensures better ergonomics. The pressure point of the lever can be precisely adjusted using a hexagon head screw without affecting the distance between the brake pads. Also the range of levers with a non-actuated brake can be adapted to the hand size by means of a hexagonal screw.
The Bremssattel was also reworked. It is now made from one block, which makes it even easier compared to its predecessor. The heat management of the brake caliper has also been optimized so that the HydroHC retains its pressure point even on long passes. The brake system works with DOT 5.1 brake fluid. This medium is strictly standardized and thus provides an extremely reliable function even at high temperatures caused by braking. The bleed-edge bleed and internal brake-fluid ducts, which are enhanced with Bleeding Edge technology, simplify air bleed significantly, should it be necessary. The flexible stealth-a-majig brake lines and connections make it easy to lay cables even with internal cable routing.
With just one shift lever per handlebar side and its simple shift logic, the new eTap shifters are virtually impossible to connect. The switching process is precise, fast and easy. The reworked ErgoBlade carbon levers lie well in the hand and the wide eTap shifters can not be missed with winter gloves. In addition, they transmit a haptic and acoustic feedback to the driver during shifting.
