SRAM RED road bike group 2x11 | BB30 for hydraulic disc brake
The RED 11-speed group is to be understood as a technical firework display. As an absolute top group, SRAM installs everything that is currently possible as state of the art. High-quality materials such as titanium, carbon, stainless steel and plastics together with the sophisticated design result in first-class performance and low weight.
SRAM RED DoubleTap brake shift lever - for hydraulic brake
These levers not only offer the crisp shifting feel and low weight of the mechanical RED levers, but also the advantages of a hydraulically operated braking system. Venting the system is extremely easy, with the appropriate access located at the top of the lever under the rubber grip. All you have to do is remove a Torx screw and attach the Avid Universal Bleeding Kit.
The reach of the brake and shift levers can be set separately.
SRAM RED rear derailleur
The RED 11-speed rear derailleur was left almost untouched compared to the predecessor. Only minor changes were necessary for this work of art in order to make it compatible with 11-speed cassettes. With Aeroglide indexing rollers for quiet chain operation and ceramic bearings for minimized friction losses!
short cage for cassettes with up to 28 teeth
WiFli medium-length cage for cassettes up to 32 teeth
SRAM RED front derailleur
The "Yaw" front derailleur was first introduced with the Red 2012 group. Thanks to a further developed mechanism, not only is the chain cage shifted in parallel during shifting operations, but simultaneously rotated around the vertical axis - or the seat tube of the frame. This rotation compensates for the chain skew depending on the chainring combination that is switched. This eliminates the need to readjust the derailleur like with other systems!
SRAM RED BB30 crank
The SRAM RED 11-speed crank fulfills everything you could want from a crank. Rigidity, first-class switching behavior, low weight and compatibility with almost all bottom bracket standards. The integral design, which combines the crank arm and chainring spider in one component, allows the material properties of carbon to be used optimally and the weight to be reduced to a phenomenal level. The chainrings offer a high level of rigidity, which significantly favors the shifting behavior. In addition, the chainring design has been optimized for the Yaw derailleur and its pivoting movement.
SRAM bottom bracket
High-quality bearings are already available from SRAM in the standard version. With the option of hybrid ceramic bearings, durability and smooth running can be improved.
SRAM XG-1190 cassette
The highest quality cassettes are almost completely made from one piece of steel at SRAM and are completed by the largest sprocket, which is made of aluminum. This complex manufacturing method eliminates numerous problems of conventional cassettes and is also extremely light. The special design of the SRAM cassette completely prevents conventional single sprockets from seizing up, since the power transmission to the freewheel body takes place over a much larger area.
The quality of the cassette should also demonstrate its quality standards while driving, thanks to a low level of noise. The tooth shape of the cassette has been optimized and supplemented by so-called "stealth rings", which further attenuate the background noise.
The 11-speed road cassettes from SRAM are only compatible with Shimano 11-speed freewheels! Corresponding wheels and conversion kits for older wheels and hubs are available from many manufacturers!
SRAM PC RED chain
A drive of the RED Group level requires a highly optimized chain. With hollow bolts and chain links with omissions, this chain is light and, thanks to the material used, extremely resilient. SRAM even optimizes the chain at the factory lubrication level.
SRAM RED brakes - hydraulic disc brake
Disc brakes offer numerous advantages, which is why they can hardly be steered away in the MTB area. The advantages of racing bikes are not so clear, but thanks to the increasingly powerful material, they are becoming increasingly important. The braking performance and controllability in all weather conditions far exceeds rim brakes! In addition, the brake as a heat source is separated from the often sensitive tires. This can bring the decisive advantage, especially in borderline situations!
In addition, the disc brake system eliminates the braking surface on the rim. This not only promises visual advantages but also allows the rims to be made lighter without fear of stability. The reinforcement of the rim in the area of the brake flanks can be omitted!
The brake system works with DOT 5.1 brake fluid. This medium is strictly standardized and thus offers an extremely reliable function even at high temperatures caused by braking.
Over the years, various standards for brakes have become established. You can find an overview of this in our product images.
Delivery without brake discs and adapters!
Total weight: from 1901g (without bottom bracket and soldering clamp)
Note: The total weight of the group differs depending on the configuration.
