SRAM GX Complete Group Red 1x11 for GXP
SRAM establishes with the GX Group a favorable entry possibility for 1x 11-speed drives on the market. Cheap is but only one thing - the price! By taking over all the technologies from the top groups, you do not have to compromise on the technology, you just have to put up with extra weight.
The principle of the 1x 11-speed drivetrain is aimed at all disciplines from cross country to enduro. By eliminating the derailleur, a potential source of error is omitted, the entire required translation bandwidth is realized via the 11-speed cassette. Since the chainrings no longer need to be optimized for switching operations, the tooth shape is then adapted to keep the chain as best possible. This is achieved via so-called X-Sync teeth, where thicker and thinner teeth alternate. This special shape keeps the chain so effectively on the blade, that a chain guide is no longer necessary, even for harder disciplines!
The crank builds like the X1 crank on the platform of the well-known X0 crank. The arms consist of a hollow forged, stiff and lightweight aluminum structure (OCT), which is well suited to the tough conditions in the MTB area.
The interchangeable spider of the GX-1400 comes standard with a 32 teeth chainring, but you have the option to order an additional one to adapt the drivetrain to your needs.
The chainrings have a special shape of the teeth (X-Sync), in which ever wider teeth engage in the outer plates and narrower teeth in the inner links of the chain. Through this principle, the chain is best managed and transported dirt and mud optimally.
The cassette of the GX comes with a bandwidth of 10-42 teeth and is thus fully Uphill-ready. It should be noted that they are no longer on all normal 9- / 10-speed fits freewheel body, so SRAM and DT Swiss brought simultaneously with the launch of the XX1 group appropriate exchange freewheel and hubs out.
The SRAM PC-1130 11-speed chain for smooth, precise shifts and light weight without compromising durability. The chain features highly rounded outer links for improved shifting and quiet running. Thanks to the familiar PowerLock chain lock, the chain can be opened and closed again at any time without tools.
The GX derailleur inherits almost all the features of the XX1 rear derailleur. A gradation mainly takes place in the choice of material, which manifests itself in a slightly increased weight. The switching precision is at the highest level. Thanks to the Type 2.1 rear derailleur, the chain is safely guided even on rough tracks. In combination with SRAM's special X-Sync chainrings and chain guide rollers, a chain guide for many intended use no longer necessary.
1x11 trigger or twister
The triggers are classic shifters and the Twister their GripShift pendant. Both work at an extremely high level of precision, durability and feel. The mechanics used offers the fastest possible gear changes. With the trigger, the compatibility with the Matchmaker X system also ensures a tidy cockpit
