High-end technology at a low price. With the new GX Eagle AXS components, SRAM has created an affordable entry into the world of electronic and wireless shifting for you! The outstanding functionality and robust design make the components the perfect everyday companion for every area of use. As you would expect from SRAM AXS components, installation is done in no time at all. No more tedious cable routing is necessary and you can conveniently adjust the shifting with your smartphone via the SRAM AXS app and adapt it to your needs. For rides in adverse conditions, the GX Eagle AXS components are both dustproof and waterproof (to IP69K standard). The battery status can be checked simply by pressing a button on the rear derailleur before setting off. With a charging time of just one hour, the bike is ready for use again in no time at all. What's more, the battery can be replaced in just one easy step.
Crank
With their striking design, the GX Eagle crank arms immediately catch the eye and are made from 7000 aluminum to withstand the occasional impact and stone chips. The crank is complemented by an X-Sync 2 Direct Mount chainring, which impresses with significantly smoother chain movement and better self-cleaning in muddy conditions.With the proven alternating thick-thin tooth profile, it holds the chain securely in place. The crank is supplied with a 32 tooth chainring. The bright aluminium teeth still look like new even after thousands of kilometers, as unsightly worn spots in the anodizing are not possible. You can find retrofit chainrings with 30 to 38 teeth in our store.
Controller
The AXS controller is the shifting center for the GX Eagle AXS groupset. With its rocker switch, the controller offers you a completely new shifting experience. The buttons on the rocker switch can be individually configured via the AXS app.In addition to the two shift points at the usual position, the controller offers a sprint shifter on the front of the handlebars, which can be operated without having to remove a single finger from the grip.
Rear derailleur
In contrast to the high-end XX1 AXS rear derailleur, the cage of the GX Eagle AXS rear derailleur is made of steel instead of carbon. This reduces the price and makes the rear derailleur even more robust on the trail. In return, you have to accept an additional weight of almost 100 grams compared to the top version. The tried-and-tested overload clutch provides better protection for the rear derailleur in the event of a fall. It briefly decouples the rear derailleur under extreme loads so that it can avoid the load and the electric motor is protected from damage. However, the rear derailleur immediately jumps back into the engaged gear. As a positive side effect, the rear derailleur suspension and the derailleur hanger are also better protected in the event of a fall. The Roller Bearing Clutch 3.0 vibration damper in combination with the X-Sync 2 tooth profiles of the derailleur pulleys guarantees safe chain movement.
Cassette
Whether pedal-heavy descents or the steepest ramps, the XG-1275 cassette with 10-52 teeth provides you with the right gears for any terrain. The stamped steel sprockets and a 52-tooth aluminum sprocket ensure a high durability of the cassette. The sprockets are not connected via a spider, but are riveted with stainless steel pins. This not only makes the Fullpin cassette lighter than conventional cassettes, the open design also offers excellent self-cleaning in muddy conditions. The teeth optimized with SRAM's X-Glide 2 technology ensure optimum shifting performance when shifting up and down, while an increased bandwidth compared to the Eagle cassettes with 10-50 teeth not only offers more reserves for extremely steep climbs. Powerful riders can use a larger chainring thanks to the increased gear range of 520% without compromising the bike's climbing capabilities. As a result, the drivetrain enables a higher top speed and the rider also uses the larger sprockets of the cassette more often, which are more efficient.
Chain
The GX Eagle chain was specially developed to meet the requirements of the 12-speed drivetrain and its unique design makes the chain highly resistant to wear. A nickel coating offers a high level of corrosion protection and reduces chain friction. The revised PowerLock chain lock has a longer service life and is even easier to handle.
