SRAM Force 22 road bike group 2x11 hydraulic disc brake for GXP
The Force 22 group is the small top group in the SRAM range. Apart from a few details, this group offers all the features of the top RED group. SRAM underpins this by simultaneously launching the Force and RED group with the new 2 x 11-speed system! With the 11-speed cassette, 22 gears are now available, all of which can be driven without restrictions thanks to the Yaw derailleur! The new, finer gradation of the cassette makes it possible to keep the optimal cadence more precise and longer.
The Force 22 group is available with mechanical rim brakes, hydraulic rim brakes and also hydraulic disc brakes. The hydraulic disc brake is offered here!
SRAM Force 22 DoubleTap brake shift lever - with hydraulics
These levers not only offer the crisp shifting feel and low weight of the mechanical force levers, but also the advantages of a hydraulically operated braking system. Whether hydraulic rim brake or disc brake, the Force 22 brake levers are suitable for both systems! Venting the system is extremely easy, with the appropriate access located at the top of the lever under the rubber grip. All you have to do is remove a Torx screw and attach the Avid Universal Bleeding Kit.
The reach of the brake and shift levers can be set separately.
SRAM Force 22 rear derailleur
The rear derailleur was only carefully optimized to keep the very good, crisp switching behavior as possible. Above all, the Aeroglide Pulleys are new, which should promote a smoother running of the chain.
short cage for cassettes with up to 28 teeth
WiFli medium-length cage for cassettes up to 32 teeth
SRAM Force 22 front derailleur
The "Yaw" front derailleur was first introduced with the Red 2012 group. Thanks to a further developed mechanism, not only is the chain cage shifted in parallel during shifting operations, but simultaneously rotated around the vertical axis - or the seat tube of the frame. This rotation compensates for the chain skew depending on the chainring combination that is switched. This eliminates the need to readjust the derailleur like with other systems!
SRAM Force 22 crank
The crank has been significantly revised. The system made of carbon crank arms, a forged aluminum spider with highly optimized chainrings and a BB30 shaft made of aluminum or GXP shaft made of steel offer first-class power transmission. The shifting aids of the chainrings are matched to the Yaw derailleurs to ensure quick and clean gear changes via the chainrings.
SRAM bottom bracket
High-quality bearings are already available from SRAM in the standard version. With the option of hybrid ceramic bearings, durability and smooth running can be improved.
SRAM PG-1170 cassette
11 finely graduated pinions in which shifting aids are incorporated with high precision. With this cassette, gears can be changed unexpectedly quickly and cleanly. The fine gradation allows the cadence to be kept constant for a longer period of time, thus saving energy or maintaining the optimal training area.
The 11-speed road cassettes from SRAM are only compatible with Shimano 11-speed freewheels! Corresponding wheels and conversion kits for older wheels and hubs are available from many manufacturers!
SRAM PC-1170 chain
The details of the new 11-speed compatible chain have also been revised.
* A new material for the inner straps should reduce wear.
* A changed process during riveting increases the strength of this connection,
so that at least 2500N are necessary to remove the rivets
* The outer plates are nickel-plated to increase the corrosion protection
SRAM Force 22 brakes - hydraulic disc brake
Disc brakes offer numerous advantages, which is why they can hardly be steered away in the MTB area. The advantages of racing bikes are not so clear, but thanks to the increasingly powerful material, they are becoming increasingly important. The braking performance and controllability in all weather conditions far exceeds rim brakes! In addition, the brake as a heat source is separated from the often sensitive tires. This can bring the decisive advantage, especially in borderline situations!
In addition, the disc brake system eliminates the braking surface on the rim. This not only promises visual advantages but also allows the rims to be made lighter without fear of loss of stability. The reinforcement of the rim in the area of the brake flanks can be omitted!
The brake system works with DOT 5.1 brake fluid. This medium is strictly standardized and thus offers an extremely reliable function even at high temperatures caused by braking.
The brake calipers are available in two mounting options (post mount and flat mount). Before buying, please check which mount your frame / fork is equipped with.
Total weight: from 2140 g
Scope of delivery: SRAM Force 22 disc group hydraulic, without brake discs and adapter!
Note: The total weight of the group differs depending on the configuration.
