SILCA bottle cage Sicuro Carbon
The Sicuro Carbon bottle cage is the result of combining more than 40 years of experience with Silca, with the work and development of carbon products, as well as the test protocol specially made for the Sicuro Titanium bottle cage. Hundreds of laboratory tests and various field tests were carried out by the developers of Silca to the origin of the product name Sicuro = safety justice.
Particular emphasis was placed on three points in the production of this bottle holder: Perfectly fitting geometry, lateral stability and perfect vibration damping. Many bottle holders cause the bottle to move upwards due to vibration and vibration and eventually fall out. Many bottles are therefore reinforced or have a particularly good grip, so that there is less risk of them falling out. Unfortunately, this does not always work or unnecessarily complicates the removal.
Based on Silca's analysis, they found they could solve the problem with a perfect bottle cage geometry. The "side wings" hold the bottle securely in the bottle cage and help to bring it back into position, should it nevertheless "go up" once. In addition, a layer of viscoelastic polymer is applied to the bottle cage, which additionally reduces the vibration on the bottle.
In the test phase it turned out that the screws have at least as much influence on the durability of the bottle holder as the holder has on itself. The Sicuro Carbon bottle cage is supplied with two of Silca's premium titanium mounting screws. These are made on a Swiss lathe made of 6AL / 4V titanium. The flat design of the screw head distributes the load over a surface three times as large as the otherwise usual Linsenkopf screws. This not only reduces the load on the holder, it also increases the rigidity of the attachment.
