Rear Derailleur RD-M9100 Shadow + GS (Medium Cage)
Even the XTR M9000 rear derailleur was known for its clean gearshifts and quiet chain running. With the M9100, these properties could be further improved and even faster switching operations realized. To be prepared for the extreme bandwidths of 10-45-tooth cassettes, the rear derailleur has been redesigned from scratch. Thus, the pulleys were placed so that they keep the chain in all gears at the optimum distance from the cassette. The size of the pulleys has grown to 13 teeth. This not only gives the chain better guidance, it also makes for a quieter and more energy-efficient run. The quiet chain run is supported by the Shadow + design with vibration damper.
Shifter SL-M9100
As one of the contact points, the shifters are an important link between the driver and the bike. Compared to the M9000 Shifter, the operating forces could be reduced by 35% thanks to a changed gear ratio in combination with a lower cage voltage at the rear derailleur. The proven Rapidfire Plus switching logic with double-sided switchable lever (2-way release) has been adopted from the previous version. However, the M9100 shifter shifts 20% faster due to a revised interior, allowing the pilot to respond even faster to changing track conditions.
With the I-Spec EV version, the lever can be attached to XTR M9100 / 9120 brake levers to save space. In addition, the assembly offers a 14 mm wide, lateral adjustment range over the new standard, and the shifter can also be rotated by 60 degrees. The shifter can be adjusted with an 11-speed or 12-speed cassette using a set screw on the underside.
Cassette CS-M9100 12-speed (10-45 teeth)
Shimano is catching up and is also using a 12-speed drive on the XTR M9100 Group.
The narrow-stepped cassette (10-45 teeth) with lower cadence jumps when switching, especially XC and marathon racers contrary to the pedaling in the optimal frequency range can spare their power reserves.
Furthermore, it impresses with its excellent switching performance and high wear resistance. An intelligent material mix of aluminum, steel and titanium increases the life, while reducing the weight of the cassette.
Chain CN-M9100 12-speed
The CN-M9100 chain is specially designed for the M9100 chainrings and cassettes. Milling on the inside of the tabs makes it a perfect match for the Dynamic Chain Engagement + (DCE +) Narrow-Wide Tooth profiles on the new XTR chainrings. The design results in a closer fit of the chain on the teeth. Vibration is avoided and the quieter track is not only noticeable when pedaling, but also acoustically by a 4db quieter drive. Thanks to a new chromed surface in combination with the proven SIL-TEC coating, the chain life was maintained at the same level as the M9000 chain, despite the smaller outside width.
DT SWISS freehub body for Shimano MTB Micro Spline cassettes 12-speed
