SHIMANO Ultegra Rear Derailleur RX RD-RX800-GS Medium Cage
The RX version of the Shimano R8000 derailleur has been optimized for use on Gravel and Cyclocross bikes. To ensure a safe and low-vibration chain guidance on rough terrain, Shimano has used the technologies of its mountain bike derailleurs. So the RX800 got the proven Shadow RD + Friction Damper donated. The damper can be activated via a switch on the top of the derailleur body, whereby the forward and reverse movements of the derailleur cage are extremely slowed down. This not only prevents the hitting the chain, but also interconnection is prevented. The design of the medium-length rear derailleur cage and parallelogram for cassettes with a maximum pinion size of 28 to 34 teeth is also ideally suited for off-road use.
The direct traction control of the rear derailleur ensures extremely low operating forces, and the design ensures Shimano's precise and fast gearshifts. Thanks to the compact Shadow design, the rear derailleur sits very close to the frame. This slim, low-profile design not only looks good, but also protects the rear derailleur from damage in the event of a fall.
