SHIMANO GRX Gravel groupset RX810 hydraulic disc brakes 1x11 | 42 teeth
Gravel bikes are becoming increasingly popular among cyclists. The advantages are obvious. They have a more comfortable geometry than road bikes, are excellent off the beaten track and are suitable for longer journeys. However, conventional road bike components reach their limits on these bikes. This is why Shimano has developed its own groupsets especially for this type of bike.
Shift/brake levers SHIMANO GRX disc brake ST-RX810 + BR-RX810 Flat Mount 1x11-speed | Set
The GRX shift/brake levers have a different grip geometry and surface. The upper humps have been raised to prevent you from slipping forwards on rough surfaces, while a recessed thumb recess ensures a firm grip on difficult terrain at all times. And to prevent your hands from sliding back and forth even when riding in the rain, a non-slip material has been selected which also has good damping properties and therefore increases comfort.
As usual, the dual-control lever of the GRX series offers outstanding ergonomics. The crisp shifting operations can be carried out quickly, precisely and with little finger force. This means you never lose control of your bike, even in hectic situations.
The brake lever has also been designed so that you can stop quickly at any time from any grip position. It is slightly bent inwards and the axle of the lever has been moved upwards. This improves ergonomics and at the same time reduces the amount of hand force required. The reach of the brake lever can also be individually adjusted so that bikers with smaller hands can also ride safely. The flat-mount brake calliper improves braking performance and modulation under all conditions. Maintenance work, such as bleeding or changing pads, is also easy to carry out. The L03A brake pads with cooling fins help to keep brake temperatures low, especially on long descents.
With the left lever you can choose between the pure braking function and the version with operation for lowerable seat posts.
Crank SHIMANO GRX FC-RX810 | 1x11-speed 42 teeth
The gravel crank for 1x fans comes on the market in an elegant design and with the typical Shimano excellent workmanship. The chainline of 51.1 mm creates space for wide tires in the frame and positions the chainring optimally to the 11-speed cassette. Nevertheless, the Q-factor of 151 mm has remained in the green zone. The 11-40 or 11-42 tooth gradation of the sprocket block allows you to speed up on the flat, but also climb steeper ascents without any problems.
RD-RX812 rear derailleur
There is a risk of the chain jumping off the sprockets, especially on bumpy surfaces. Shimano gravel rear derailleurs can prevent this from happening. A built-in stabilizer reliably prevents chain slap and keeps everything in place. This can also be switched off when riding on asphalt roads.
As you would expect from Shimano, shifting is quick and precise with little finger force. Even under adverse conditions, the chain shifts reliably from one sprocket to another. In order to be able to adjust the rear derailleur optimally, it has its own adjustment screw on which the tension of the Bowden cable can be set.
Thanks to the compact Shadow design, the rear derailleur sits closer to the frame. This slim low-profile design not only cuts a fine figure visually, but also protects the rear derailleur from damage or branches reaching into the path in the event of a fall.
CS-M8000 11-40 or 11-42 cassette
The Deore XT 11-speed cassette impresses with its outstanding shifting performance, low weight and high wear resistance. Thanks to a fine gradation optimized for 1x11, 2x11 and 3x11 drivetrains, gear changes are extremely precise and with short shifting pauses.
An intelligent material mix of aluminum and steel increases the service life while at the same time reducing the weight of the cassette. For example, the base body (spider), the lockring and the largest sprocket are made of aluminum to save weight. The remaining sprockets, on the other hand, are made of steel, which not only reduces wear but also generates more rigidity so that the entire power can be converted into propulsion.
CN-HG701 chain
The adapted geometry of the directional chain provides excellent shifting performance in any situation. Even mud and dirt have little chance of attacking the sophisticated design. In combination with SIL-TEC, Shimano's new surface coating, ultra-low friction is generated and thanks to the use of embedded fluorine particles, system performance is improved. The coating reduces wear, driving noise and sliding friction. It is also dirt-repellent and abrasion-resistant, which significantly increases the durability of components treated with SIL-Tec.
Inner bearing (at extra cost)
High-quality and multi-sealed bearings round off the overall package of the Ultegra groupset. The bearings are designed in all common standards and shine with the silky smooth running typical of Shimano.
