Description
SHIMANO GRX Gravel Group RX810 hydraulic disc brakes 1x11 | 42 teeth
Gravel bikes are becoming increasingly popular among cyclists. The advantages are obvious. They have a more comfortable geometry than road bikes, are excellent off the beaten track and are suitable for longer journeys. However, conventional road bike components reach their limits with these bikes. That is why Shimano has developed its own shift groups specifically for this type of bike.
Shift/brake levers SHIMANO GRX disc brake ST-RX810 + BR-RX810 Flat Mount 1x11-speed | Set
The GRX shift/brake levers have a different grip geometry and surface. The upper humps have been raised to prevent you from slipping forward on rough surfaces. A recessed thumb notch ensures a firm grip at all times in difficult terrain. And so that your hands don't slide back and forth even on rides in the rain, a material with good grip has been chosen that also has good damping properties and thus increases comfort.
As usual, the Dual Control lever of the GRX series offers excellent ergonomics. The crisp shifting processes are short, precise and can be carried out with little finger force. This means you never lose control of your bike, even in hectic situations.
The brake lever has also been designed in such a way that you can stop quickly at any time from any grip position. It is slightly bent inwards and the axle of the lever has been moved upwards. This improves the ergonomics and at the same time reduces the necessary hand forces. In addition, the grip width of the brake lever can be individually adjusted so that bikers with smaller hands can also ride safely. The flat-mount brake caliper improves braking performance and dosing in all conditions. Maintenance work, such as bleeding or pad replacement, is also easy to perform. The L03A brake pads with cooling fins help keep brake temperatures low, especially on long downhill sections.
With the left lever you can choose between the pure brake function and the version with operation for lowerable seat posts.
Crank SHIMANO GRX FC-RX810 | 1x11-speed 42 teeth
The Gravel crank for 1-speed fans comes in an elegant design and with the typically excellent Shimano workmanship. The chainline of 51.1 mm creates space for wide tyres in the frame and optimally positions the chainring to the 11-speed cassette. Nevertheless, the Q-factor of 151 mm has remained within the green range. The sprocket block's gradation of 11-40 or 11-42 teeth allows you to make speed on the flats, but also to climb steeper climbs without any problems.
RD-RX812 rear derailleur
Especially on bumpy terrain, there is a risk of the chain jumping off the sprockets. This can lead to nasty falls. With the Shimano Gravel rear derailleurs this can be avoided. A built-in stabiliser reliably prevents chain slap and keeps everything in place. This can also be switched off when riding on asphalt tracks.
As you would expect from Shimano, shifting is fast and precise with little finger force. Even under adverse conditions, the chain changes reliably from one sprocket to the other. In order to be able to adjust the rear derailleur optimally, it has its own adjustment screw on which the tension of the Bowden cable can be set.
Thanks to the compact Shadow design, the rear derailleur sits closer to the frame. This slim low-profile design not only looks good, but also protects the rear derailleur from damage or branches reaching into the path in the event of a fall.
CS-M8000 11-40 or 11-42 cassette
The Deore XT 11-speed cassette impresses with excellent shifting performance, low weight and high wear resistance. Thanks to a fine gradation optimised for 1x11, 2x11 and 3x11 drives, gear changes are extremely precise and with short shift pauses.
An intelligent material mix of aluminium and steel increases the service life, but at the same time reduces the weight of the cassette. For example, the basic body (spider), the lockring and the largest sprocket are made of aluminium to save weight. The remaining sprockets, however, are made of steel, which not only reduces wear but also generates more stiffness so that the entire power can be converted into propulsion.
Chain CN-HG701
The adapted geometry of the directional chain offers excellent shifting performance in any situation. Even mud and dirt are no problem for the sophisticated design. In combination with SIL-TEC, Shimano's new surface coating, ultra-low friction is generated. Thanks to the use of embedded fluorine particles, system performance is improved. The coating reduces wear, driving noise and sliding friction. It is also dirt-repellent and abrasion-resistant, which significantly increases the durability of SIL-Tec treated components.
Inner bearing (at extra charge)
High-quality and multi-sealed bearings round off the overall package of the Ultegra shifting group. The bearings are designed in all common standards and shine with the silky smooth running typical of Shimano.
