Shimano's Deore XT Group has also enjoyed a 12-speed drivetrain. With the FC-M8120 Boost Crankset, Shimano is taking a big step forward in several aspects. Optimizing the design, the current generation of cold-forged aluminum cranks has further reduced weight while increasing rigidity. For the specially shaped teeth of the chainrings fast gear changes are no problem. In addition, the chain sits securely in the driveline at all times and has excellent self-cleaning capability. The 2-speed crank appeals especially to bikers who prefer smaller gear jumps in order to be able to pedal at any time to the optimum cadence.
Like any Deore XT crank, it can be used for almost any intended use , from marathon to freeride.
