Many features have been retained, such as the 12-speed drive. This enables a larger gear ratio and makes long hill climbs very comfortable, even for less trained drivers. The slightly simpler choice of materials increases the weight marginally, but you don't have to make any compromises in terms of functionality.
Shift and brake lever SHIMANO 105 Di2 ST-R7170 2x12-speed + disc brake BR-R7170 Flat Mount
The new ST-R7100 shift/brake levers allow quick and precise shifting. This is ensured by the redesigned internal switching unit of the Dual Control Shifter. The slim and compact brake levers not only save weight, but are also easier to reach thanks to their more comfortable shape and require little effort when decelerating. In addition, the grip width can of course be individually adjusted. The brake caliper impresses with unprecedented braking power. Thanks to the special design, brake judder and annoying squeaks are a thing of the past. The standard L05A-RF resin brake pads with cooling fins ensure sufficient stability at all times, even under high stress. In addition, the distance between the brake pads has been increased by approx. 10%, making adjustment easier and preventing grinding noises. Even maintenance work, such as bleeding, does not pose any major problems for a biker with a moderate amount of mechanical skills.
Brake disc SHIMANO Ultegra Center Lock RT-CL800 | 160mm IceTech FREEZA
When developing the Ultegra CL800 brake discs, Shimano engineers managed to prevent heat-related deformation of the discs. As a result, the CL800 discs offer more reliable, better controllable braking performance and are quieter than ever before. Fortunately, the weight has remained at the low level of the previous version. Also on board is Shimano's Ice-Tech cooling technology, which ensures excellent heat dissipation and constant braking performance even on long, steep descents. The brake discs are characterized by a three-layer sandwich construction. Their stainless steel flanks with an aluminum core offer significantly improved heat dissipation. This allows the temperature to be reduced by around 100 °C. In addition, the FREEZA aluminum cooling fins reduce the system temperature by approximately another 50 °C due to their increased surface area. Due to the higher heat dissipation, smaller brake discs can be installed than usual. In addition, the service life of the brake pad is significantly extended. As is typical for Shimano, the discs are suitable for center lock mounts, which enable quick and easy installation, provide a secure hold and ensure a clean and compact look.

The 105 crank not only converts your pedal power into propulsion, its high rigidity also ensures extremely fast and precise shifting behavior. This is supported by the optimized tooth design of the chainrings. The latter also increase aerodynamics due to their integrated design. In order to keep the weight as low as possible, the Japanese continue to rely on the tried and tested Hollowtech II design of the crank arms.
Front derailleur SHIMANO 105 FD-R7100 braze on | 2x12-speed
With the FD-R7100 front derailleur, shifting is even more precise and faster. The Shimano toggle link construction with its optimized cage design guarantees harmonious shifting behavior. An integrated adjustment screw for the tension significantly simplifies assembly and subsequent adjustment.
SHIMANO 105 Di2 RD-R7150 rear derailleur | 2x12-speed
The R7100 rear derailleur was specially developed for the 105 12-speed cassettes with 11-34 or 11-36 teeth. With this drive you have a very wide range and at the same time a very finely graduated gear ratio on board. Thanks to the built-in Shadow RD chain stabilizer, the chain stays securely on the chainring even on bumpy roads. As usual from Shimano, shifting takes place with little finger strength, quickly and precisely. Even under adverse conditions, the chain switches reliably from one sprocket to the other. In order to be able to optimally adjust the rear derailleur, it has its own adjustment screw, which can be used to adjust the tension of the Bowden cable. Thanks to the compact Shadow design, the rear derailleur sits closer to the frame. This slim, low-profile design not only looks good, but also protects the rear derailleur from damage or branches getting in the way in the event of a fall.
Cassette SHIMANO 105 Cassette CS-HG710 12-speed | 11-36 teeth
The Shimano Hyperglide cassettes have set new standards in off-road use with their smooth upshifting and downshifting across the entire range of gear ratios. Even when exerting maximum effort on climbs or when sprinting to the finish line, you can now shift gears without hesitation. Longer teeth make this possible, among other things. Despite the new design and the additional 12th sprocket, the cassette is compatible with 11-speed Shimano Road freewheel bodies.
Chain SHIMANO SLX / 105 CN-M7100 12-speed | 126 links with chain lock
The CN-M7100 chain is specially tailored to the M7100 chainrings and cassettes. Thanks to cutouts on the inside of the plates, the chain harmonizes perfectly with the Dynamic Chain Engagement+ (DCE+) narrow-wide tooth profiles of the new SLX chainrings. The design results in a tighter fit of the chain on the teeth. Vibrations are avoided and the quieter running of the chain is not only noticeable when pedaling, but is also reflected acoustically through a quieter drive. Thanks to a new chrome-plated surface in combination with the proven SIL-TEC coating, the service life of the chain could be kept at the same level as the M7000 chain, despite the smaller external width.
