Description
SCOTT Frame Set 29" Spark ST 900 Tuned HMF | 2023
From now on there are no more excuses. With the frame you have the top material par excellence. Whether on the trail or the down-country tour, your bike is fit, are you too?
Scott is breaking new ground again this year. Integration is the motto. And that is obvious at first glance. Is there a damper missing? Of course not. It sits well protected just above the bottom bracket. What are the advantages of this construction? On the one hand, the damper is very well protected against dirt and other external influences. In addition, weight is saved because the bottom bracket area is already stiff from the outset to maximize stability and therefore less additional material is required for the mount . And last but not least, this frame shape allows you to mount two bottle cages. So you always have enough liquid at hand, even on long tours.
In addition, with the new design, the suspension travel has grown. In this model, this is 140 mm at the front and 120 mm at the rear. For Scott, this is the new standard in trail riding. This gives you more comfort and safety reserves off-road. The RockShox Pike Ultimate suspension fork and the FOX Float X Nude damper are perfectly matched to the geometry, respond very sensitively and smooth out all obstacles.
The supplied TwinLoc 2 lever is the optimal control center for adjusting the chassis of your Spark. With this lever you have the possibility to adjust the fork and damper to the ground at the same time. You have three different modes available - Descend, Traction and Lockout. He can also control a Vario seat post.
The chain line line, which has been enlarged to 55 mm, has also remained. It offers more installation space for a stiffer chainstay and also allows the use of very wide 2.4" tires. This increases traction and at the same time puncture protection.
The HMF carbon fibers in particular contribute to the low weight and nevertheless high rigidity. They are slightly heavier than the high-end HMX fibers but offer the same stiffness and strength. In addition, the processing effort is lower and the finished product can therefore be offered more cheaply.
The omission of the Horst-Link joint at the rear makes the Spark even easier and reduces the maintenance effort. The function of this is taken over by the flexibly designed seat stays.
The rear brake mount also saves weight. In the past, the prevailing opinion was that the combination of brakes, seat stays and chainstays had to be radically stiff. Scott thought about it and now only connects the brake to the chainstay and directly to the rear wheel axle using a special adapter. As a result, the seatstay does not have to absorb any forces and can be lighter.
A clean and graceful look is achieved with the ICCR cable routing, in which all cables and lines run through the frame. All conceivable constellations were considered. The cables are neatly routed through inserts in the frame, where they are well protected from dirt and rain.
The set already includes a RockShox Pike Ultimate suspension fork, the FOX Float Nude X NUDE Factory shock and a Syncros Fraser iC handlebar-stem unit. Everything has been color-matched to the frame, resulting in a unified look that's guaranteed to make you the envy of everyone.
ATTENTION: Scott recommends the use of Shimano or SRAM disc brakes. Models from other manufacturers (e.g. from Magura or Hope) may not be able to be installed for reasons of space.
