SCOTT Frame Set 29" Spark RC World Cup HMX
From now on there are no more excuses. With this frame you have the top material par excellence. It has what it takes to win, don't you? An absolute racing machine that was developed for nothing other than turning muscle power into propulsion.
Scott is also breaking new ground this year. Integration is the motto. And this is noticeable at first glance. Is the shock absorber missing? Of course not. It sits well protected just above the bottom bracket. What are the advantages of this design? For one thing, the shock is very well protected from dirt and other external influences. In addition, weight is saved because the bottom bracket area is already stiff from the outset to maximize stability, meaning that less additional material is required for the mount. And last but not least, this frame shape allows two bottle cages to be fitted. This means you always have enough liquid to hand, even in marathons or on long tours.
The suspension travel has also increased with the new design. This is now 120 mm at the front and rear. For Scott, this is the new standard with race range. The RockShox SID Select+ Air suspension fork and the RockShox Nude 5 Factory RLC3 shock are perfectly matched to the new geometry, respond very sensitively and smooth out all obstacles.
The TwinLoc 2 lever supplied is the perfect control center for adjusting the suspension of your Sparks. This lever allows you to adjust the fork and shock to the terrain at the same time. Three different modes are available - Descend, Traction and Lockout - and it can also control a Vario seatpost.
The chainline has also been increased to 55 mm. It offers more installation space for a stiffer chainstay and also allows the use of very wide 2.4" tires. This increases traction and puncture protection at the same time.
The HMX carbon fibers are the main contributor to the low weight and high stiffness. These are produced exclusively for Scott and come very close to the ideal balance between weight, stiffness and comfort. Particularly critical and stressed areas have been specially reinforced.
Dispensing with the Horst link joint on the rear triangle makes the Spark even easier and reduces maintenance. Its function is taken over by the flexibly designed seat stays.
The brake mount on the rear triangle also saves weight. In the past, the opinion was that the combination of brake, seat stay and chainstay had to be radically stiff. Scott has rethought this and now only connects the brake to the chainstay and directly to the rear wheel axle via a special adapter. This means that the seat stay does not have to absorb any forces and can be lighter.
A clean and graceful look is achieved by the ICCR cable routing, in which all cables and lines run through the frame. Every conceivable constellation has been considered. The cables are neatly routed through inserts in the frame, where they are well protected from dirt and rain.
The set already includes a RockShox SID Select+ suspension fork, the RockShox Nude 5 RL3 shock and the Syncros Fraser iC handlebar/stem unit. Everything has been colour-matched to the frame and results in a uniform appearance that is guaranteed to make you envious.
ATTENTION: Scott recommends the use of Shimano or SRAM disc brakes. Models from other manufacturers (e.g. Magura or Hope) may not be able to be fitted due to space restrictions.
Note: Contrary to the illustration, the fork has yellow decals that match the frame perfectly.
