The trailblazers in terms of oval chainrings in cycling are also taking an innovative and independent approach to the interior and appearance of the R-Volver hubs. This is how freewheeling is based on a patented, almost non-contact system that represents a mixture of the toothed disc freewheel and pawl freewheel.
When rolling, the specially shaped pulley with beveled teeth is pushed away by 6 bolts and the freewheel runs with extremely low resistance. This significantly reduces the frictional resistance compared to other systems. At the slightest pedal movement, the bolts shoot into the pulley and ensure a very direct traction. The system is toothed over 25 teeth and thus locks every 14.4 degrees with one pedal turn. Because no fixed connection between the toothed disc and hub body is necessary, the system saves weight compared to other freewheel systems.
The hub bodies are machined 100% by machine CNC. Contact-reduced bearing seals not only provide a long life, but also reduce the frictional resistance of the hubs during rolling. The milled hub flanges for J-Bend spokes reduce weight and give the R-Volver hubs their special look.
