The rotor VEGAST crank arms offer a low-cost alternative to the ultralight ALDHU aluminum crank arms. As a tribute to the successes of the Rotor Pro-Tour riders in the big country tours, the name VEGAST consists of 3 legendary Grand Tour passes (VEleta-GAlibier-STelvio = VEGAST).
For the greatest possible adaptability, the VEGAST crank system has a modular design. Thus, the chain line for disc and rim brake hubs can be adjusted via 2 different shafts and the 110 mm 4-hole Spider can be exchanged for ROTOR's new Direct Mount chainring combinations. For optimum adjustment of the oval ROTOR Q-Rings chainrings, the OCP (Optimum Chainring Position) system has been further refined. Through a combination of different positions of the crank arms on the crankshaft and a fine-styled Spider recording the position of the chainrings can be adjusted in 1-degree increments. For the adjustment and assembly of the chainrings and the crank, only a 10-millimeter hex key is necessary.
The 6082 aluminum crank arms are made with Rotor's proven Trinity Drilling System. Over the entire length of the crank arm material is removed from the central, neutral fiber of the crank arms in 3 channels. This material contributes only slightly to the load capacity of a component and can be omitted without negative consequences. The necessary rigidity and stability is achieved with lightweight construction over large outer diameter.
The ALDHU crankshafts are designed with 30 mm outside diameter as BB30 and can be driven via corresponding bottom bracket in frames with BSA, BBright (Cervélo) and BB30 bottom bracket. For optimum chain line there is a variant for 130 mm width rim brake hubs and 135 mm width disc brake hubs.

The single block spider milled from a block of 7075 aluminum is mounted directly on Rotor's modular racing wheel crank systems. The sophisticated ovalization of the Q-Rings makes your kick more efficient, slowing down the fatigue of the muscles. When pedaling, they harmonize the natural strengths and weaknesses of the muscles. Thus, a better use of the stronger muscle groups is achieved and in the weaker muscles a balance in the working path (lower stroke) created. The Narrow Wide tooth profile ensures optimum grip of the chain even in off-road use and in poor road conditions, making a chain guide superfluous. They are available with 38 to 54 teeth, making them suitable for a wide range of uses from Cyclocrosser to triathlon bike.
