Description
ROTOR crank set ALDHU 3D + for road bike
With the ALDHU 3D +, ROTOR brings the lightest crank in its history to the market. The name is an abbreviation for the legendary Tour de France rise of Alpe d'Huez, where Carlos Sastre laid the cornerstone for the Tour overall victory in 2008 with Rotor Q-Rings and thus gave ROTOR one of the biggest victories in the company's history.
For the greatest possible adaptability, the ALDHU crank system has a modular design. Thus, the chain line for disc and rim brake hubs can be adjusted via 2 different shafts and the 110 mm 4-hole Spider can be exchanged for ROTOR's new Direct Mount chainring combinations or for a 1-way Direct-Mount chainring. For optimum adjustment of the oval ROTOR Q-Rings chainrings, the OCP (Optimum Chainring Position) system has been further refined. Through a combination of different positions of the crank arms on the crankshaft and a fine-styled Spider recording the position of the chainrings can be adjusted in 1-degree increments.
crank arms
The crank arms made from ultralight 7055 aluminum are manufactured using Rotor's proven Trinity Drilling System. Over the entire length of the crank arm material is removed from the central, neutral fiber of the crank arms in 3 channels. This material contributes only slightly to the load capacity of a component and can be omitted without negative consequences. The necessary rigidity and stability is achieved with lightweight construction over large outer diameter.
crankshafts
The ALDHU crankshafts are designed with 30 mm outside diameter as BB30 and can be driven via corresponding bottom bracket in frames with BSA, BBright (Cervélo) and BB30 bottom bracket. For optimum chain line there is a variant for 130 mm width rim brake hubs and 135 mm width disc brake hubs.
Spider
The ALDHU 2-way Spider with its asymmetrical 110 millimeter 4-arm bolt bolt circle diameter is suitable for ROTORS oval Q-ring and NoQ-ring chainrings, as well as for all other blades that are compatible with the asymmetric Shimano 110 millimeter bolt circle diameter .
NOTE: Matching chainrings can be found in our shop
