ROCK SHOX suspension fork 29 "PIKE RCT3 DebonAir SA 140 mm BOOST tapered 42 mm black 2019
When Rock Shox launched the Pike in 2013, it immediately became the benchmark for Trail and Enduro forks.
To keep it that way, the guys from California have given it a diet, added the new Charger 2 shocks, created a remote option and finally donated a completely new chassis including revised decals.
Thanks to the BOOST-only concept of the fork results in an extremely stiff, lightweight chassis with perfect steering precision at the same time lower weight and the ability to drive tires up to 2.8 "(81 mm).
With a completely revised casting and 35 mm thick stanchions as stiff as the lyrics and yet as light as a Revelation!
High stiffness and low weight is promising, but not all - in addition, some revolutionary technologies have been implemented.
The 140 mm Pike RCT3 is available in model year 2019 in two different offset variants. On the one hand with the usual 29 "suspension forks, a bit more agile to move 51 mm offset and as an option with 42 mm for a more stable steering behavior.
A special shimstack inside the fork optimizes the function for many, fast successive strokes. It returns faster to the starting position - the contact with the ground is increased and the notorious Wegsacken prevented.
Charger 2 Damper
The advancement of the much acclaimed Charger damper - the most advanced RockShox technology yet - raises its performance and sophistication to a whole new level of performance.
The new damping design allows for more advanced low-speed compression settings in open mode and one and more effective pedaling mode, which is particularly useful on hilly trails.
Revised thru axle, even easier to handle, even more reliable under extreme load.
It's ok to be soft. DebonAir technology has an extremely low breakaway torque to be as sensitive as possible from the start. The first third of the spring travel is designed to be particularly soft so as to be able to use the rest as linearly as possible and to swallow small beats perfectly even in the middle range of spring travel. At the same time, inside, the DebonAir air spring reduces friction to improve performance. All this together creates more traction and control.
The tuning of the damping has a controllable in 3 stages platform.
* Open, the fork reacts sensitively to any unevenness, providing the best traction in downhills
* Platform, the fork triggers only when larger blows occur. For short races or tracks with fast changing requirements
* Closed, the fork is completely blocked and allows the effective use of force in hard climbs and sprints
The negative and positive air chambers are filled only by means of a valve at the same time. Which considerably simplifies the setting of the personal set-up.
Torque Caps reinforce the connection between the hub and the fork dropout through an enlarged surface that connects both. This creates a stronger and stiffer interface that gives you better feedback and more control. So you can concentrate on the most important connection: the one between your bike and the trail.
