When Rock Shox launched the Pike in 2013, its appearance became the benchmark for Trail, All Mountain and Enduro forks.
To keep it that way, the guys from California have given her a diet, filled the new Charger 2 RC2 shock with the Maxima Plush Damping Fluid and donated her remodeled "Ultimate" Decals. The SKF seals and scraper rings in the damping cartridge help to minimize friction and let you drive fast on any surface. Last but not least, the DebonAir air spring was completely trimmed for performance and as far as possible was freed of unnecessary friction. This creates more traction and perfect control on the trail in every situation.
Thanks to the BOOST-only concept of the fork results in a very stiff and lightweight chassis with perfect steering precision and low weight.
With the perfectly on the intended use thick coordinated Casting and 35 mm fork tubes it is almost as stiff as the poetry and yet nearly as light as a Revelation!
High rigidity and low weight is promising, but not all - in addition, some revolutionary technologies have been implemented.
A special shimstack inside the fork optimizes the function for many, fast successive strokes. It returns faster to the starting position - the contact with the ground is increased and the notorious wayback is prevented.
Charger 2.1 RC2
The advancement of the acclaimed Charger damper - the most advanced RockShox technology yet - raises its performance and sophistication to a whole new level of performance.
The new damping design allows adjustment of high and low speed compression and rebound. The new Maxima Plush damping fluid reduces friction within the cushioning and allows you to glide smoothly over all bumps.
Very light thru axle which can be mounted and removed with a 6 mm hexagon socket. In addition to a clean look, it also saves some weight on the unsprung mass.
It's ok to be soft. The DebonAir technology has an extremely low breakaway torque to work as sensitively as possible from the beginning. The first third of the spring travel is designed to be particularly soft to be able to use the rest, then as linear as possible and to swallow small beats perfectly even in the middle travel range. Late onset progression reliably prevents punches. All this together creates more traction and perfect control.
The negative and positive air chambers are filled only by means of a valve at the same time, which considerably simplifies the setting of the personal set-up.
In order to improve the rigidity and steering precision of the overall system, the dropouts have been increased for the use of 31mm diameter end caps. Use with normal end caps is easily possible.
Here you can easily vary the air volume of your fork with optionally available tokens (volume spacers) and thereby adapt the spring characteristic to your driving style.
