The Race Face Vault hubs not only stand out due to their beefy look, they also impress with their inner values. With 120 locking points per wheel revolution, the Vault hubs are among the finest toothed hubs on the market. This enables an extremely direct start. Especially on technically demanding uphill sections, this can make the difference between pushing and driving. The fine toothing is achieved by means of a pawl freewheel with six double-toothed pawls and a toothed lock washer with 60 locking points, into which three pawls engage at the same time. The low resistance of the pawl springs ensures low mechanical resistance.
The oversized hub shell offers an extremely high degree of rigidity for the construction of robust and durable wheels. It also houses four 6902 industrial bearings, which have a very high durability thanks to their large balls. This is also ensured by the large distance between the bearing seats, which reduces the forces acting on the bearings. The smooth-running labyrinth rubber seals ensure high protection in adverse external conditions. The end caps of the Vault hubs can be exchanged without tools for easy conversion of the hubs to other axle type standards.
