If you are looking for maximum braking power, want a defined pressure point and don't want to worry about anything after installation, you cannot do without this reliable Magura disc brake. Even in its original condition, it sets standards. But this set increases the performance even further. Paired with the brake levers from Oak Components, an unprecedented individual setup is possible.
The milled one-finger levers not only look beautiful, they also fit perfectly in the hand. Even long descents can be tackled safely and without tiring. The ALK (Advanced Lever Kinematics) system also helps here, which noticeably reduces the leverage through a changed transmission ratio without affecting the controllability. Of course, they can be individually adapted to your hands. The grip width can be adjusted with a 2 mm Allen key and the pressure point using the CPA (Contact Point Adjustment) technology without tools. So everyone should be able to find their ideal lever position.
During the development work, Oak Components not only looked at the lever, but also examined the weak point of the brake line outlet. In the event of a fall or other external influences, a kinking can occur there, which can result in a drop in pressure point or even loss of fluids. To prevent this, a small steel spring is used here, also known as the SBP (Superior Bending Protection) system, which is still flexible, but can absorb suddenly occurring forces and avert damage.
The transmitter unit consists of Carbotecture material from Magura. This is a thermoplastic matrix with embedded carbon fibers. With this Carboflow process, the mix can be used in a load-optimized manner and a homogeneous surface can be designed. The flip-flop design allows you to mount the lever on both sides, which is very easy due to the split handlebar clamp.
Not many words need to be said about the legendary MT5 brake calipers. They belong to the upper class in the Magura range and primarily appeal to freeride and downhill fans. The four brake pistons press mercilessly on the disc and bring you to a standstill in every situation. Of course, the resulting heat is dissipated perfectly, so that even on alpine downhills, brake fading is a thing of the past. Servicing the brake caliper is also simple. The pistons are magnetic and guarantee a perfect fit of the brake pads.
This high-quality set is completely "Made in Germany" and comes in an elegant wooden box. On the one hand, this saves packaging waste and, even after many years, reminds you where you bought your cool parts. The high-quality impression of this packaging is further reinforced by lasered images of various bike parts.
