A worn chain is not only difficult to shift, it also ruins the chainrings and cassette in a very short time.
The CC-4 wear gauge guarantees a precise wear measurement of 5 to 12-speed switching chains, so that you can identify and change a worn chain in good time. If the measuring tip is completely immersed in the chain link when it is placed, the elongation tolerance limit has been reached. The teaching has an indicator for 0.5% and an indicator for 0.75% elongation for different chain types. Most manufacturers recommend replacing the chain for 5- to 9-speed chains with an elongation of no more than 0.75% and for 10- to 12-speed chains at a maximum of 0.5%.
