The Crest rims are now part of mountain bike history. Since its market launch in 2005, it has paved the way for tubeless capable yet lightweight rims thanks to its innovative construction. Stan's original idea was to offer a rim that could easily be used tubeless while being lighter and more durable than anything else on the market. All of these goals were achieved back then with the Crest.
With a lightweight 6069 aluminum alloy, 25mm inner width and asymmetrical profile, the current generation of the Crest is technologically light years ahead of the previous design, but it has lost nothing of the idea of the time. It is still light, works perfectly, prevents punctures and gets you to your destination as quickly as possible.
The Crest MK4's BST Asymmetric rim design allows for a stable wheel while allowing for easy inflation and the unmatched airtightness at the rim flange typical of NoTubes rims. It's optimized for up to 40mm wide gravel tires or up to 2.3" mountain bike tires, making it a great and versatile choice for a wide range of bikes and riding styles.
Thanks to an extra low rim flange, the tire can develop optimally and the tire shape can develop better than a conventional rim. This leads to a lower rolling resistance and optimal damping behavior.
