With the Advanced SL Gravel wheels, Newmen builds the perfect companion for your off-road exploratory trips and long-distance adventures. Equipped with robust yet ultra-light carbon rims, the Advanced SL combines reliability, comfort and efficiency. The angled hookless rim horns, paired with a flat, good-natured rim profile, which have long been tried and tested in the mountain bike world, result in one of the lightest gravel wheelsets on the market with a weight of 1260 grams. In addition, the lack of hooks enables the large inner rim width of 25 millimeters, which allows wide tubeless gravel tires to be driven with very low air pressures.
The Advanced SL wheels are spoked with the lightweight and resilient Newmen Fade hubs. Equipped with high-quality, double-sealed industrial bearings, the hubs stand for durability under all conditions. The grease used by Newmen has a 25% higher water absorption capacity and a very high bleeding temperature, which protects the bearings from premature wear and corrosion. The slim shape in the middle part saves weight, but safety was also a top priority. It is better to build in a little more material at critical points, like. For example, at the transition between the brake disc and spoke mounts, as risking a defect. The construction of the freewheel is completely different from the previous model. The goal was a low level of noise. The result was the FADE pawl system. Thereby 3 pawls engage in a new type of tooth profile. To increase durability, the diameter was increased and the individual pawls were made short and wide. In this way, the resulting forces are distributed over a larger area.
