Description
MONDRAKER Frame 29" Summum R | 2023
Mondraker was born from the passion for mountain biking by Spanish downhill racer Miguel Pina in 2001 to develop modern mountain bikes with a clear design language and innovative performance features such as the Zero Suspension System and Forward Geometry in the highest quality. Bikes that make the difference. Bikes that win! These approaches represent the foundations of Mondraker's corporate philosophy and are naturally lived by all employees, team riders, which is also reflected in the new headquarters opened in 2021 in Alicante, Spain, on the Costa Blanca. Who has always wondered where the name Mondraker comes from? It is derived from the cartoon hero "Mandrake - the Magician".
The Summum is the bike for really rough terrain. Whether in the bike park or on downhill trails, with this bike you definitely come down the mountain fast. With its 200 mm rear travel, the Summum is designed for maximum downhill performance and ready for the next 20 meter wide double or 10 meter high drop. Of course, a high value was placed on aesthetics and design during development. Therefore, all cables and wires run with the help of the HHG Cable Routing System through the frame and provide a tidy appearance. The engineers of Mondraker know, of course, that the driving pleasure is not only defined by the suspension travel and handling of a bike. Maintenance and care also have a significant impact on it. To keep the maintenance effort as low as possible, the Summum has sealed "MAX Capacity" bearings and an integrated splash guard for the damper. So nothing stands in the way of the next bad weather visit to the bike park.
Forward Geometry
The main advantages of Forward Geometry are increased safety and confidence on steep descents, even at high speeds, and more precision when going uphill. At high speeds, the result is agile, precise and direct handling. Improved traction and control lead to more stability even on very technical and rough terrain.
Stealth Alloy
This technology encompasses the entire development, design process and finally the precise manufacturing of the frame. All parts and tube sets are designed specifically for the intended use. This allows Mondraker engineers to achieve the best performance with the lowest possible weight and maximum riding enjoyment in the unmistakable Mondraker design.
Zero Suspension System
This is a high-performance suspension system developed by Mondraker itself. The goal is to achieve the highest possible efficiency of the drive with maximum performance of the chassis. The Zero Suspension System is individually designed for each Mondraker model and adapted to the corresponding requirements. It is based on the Dual Link design and thus falls into the category of suspension systems with virtual pivot point. In this case, the damper floats between two suspension links and is compressed at both ends. Accordingly, the rear end reacts extremely sensitively to the smallest bumps and generates rich grip, while at the same time the suspension does not harden under braking. Of course, the chassis can also take away rough impacts after drops. Furthermore, this system reduces the pedal kickback to a minimum, even when fully utilizing the suspension travel, the length of the chainstays changes minimally.
Hidden Housing Guide
All cables and wires are routed through the frame for a clean look.
NOTE: Mondraker recommends a 30mm stem length on the SuperFoxy model, following Forward Geometry.
