MICHELIN Wild GripeR2 29 x 25.2 Advanced, GumX, TL-Ready
The Michelin Wild Grip'R Advanced Reinforced is an excellent tire for competition. It is ideal for different substrates, it offers very good cornering grip and good directional control and is also designed for muddy XC trails.
Both the distribution and the shape of the central profile blocks have been optimized in order to achieve the ideal compromise between grip, efficiency, and self-cleaning capability. In order to improve the stability of the tread blocks, these have been reinforced at their base. Fins provide more grip, while the intermediate webs prevent a loss of rigidity of the tread block. For a constant and effective cornering grip height, distance and angle of inclination of the tread blocks on the tire shoulder have been optimized. Additional cornering grip is generated by small steps in the profile block (edge effect). Small notches on the outer sides of the shoulder profile give this a double function: while responding flexibly to lighter load occurs at high loads, a blocking effect on, which prevents further bending and the associated loss of traction. The cornering grip of the tire thus remains constantly high to the extreme limit.
MICHELIN GUM-X Series is the latest generation of rubber compounds, which has developed for MICHELIN MICHELIN Wild Advanced mountain bike series.
Available for all of the new series MICHELIN Wild Grip'R Advanced and MICHELIN Wild Race'R Advanced Ultimate tires.
The entire long MICHELIN experience has been incorporated into the new Gummmimischungen that offer mountain bikers an excellent balance between grip, mileage and durability. MICHELIN GUM-X Series compound used different degrees of hardness (shore): The lower the value, the softer the rubber, the higher the value, the harder.
The tires of the series "Advanced Technology" by virtue of their properties provide an even better performance: A special profile, a new rubber compound (GUM-X) and a new structure of the carcass (Reinforced Technology).
Lightweight and flexible aramid collapsible cores
For his bicycle tire MICHELIN uses two types of Faltkernen: flexible and hard collapsible cores.
The flexible collapsible cores were invented and developed by MICHELIN and consist exclusively of aramid fibers, which are used for example in bullet-proof vests intended use.
This textile fiber is very resistant, with very low weight, so per tire between 40 and 70 grams of weight can be saved.
The road and mountain bike tires from MICHELIN High Performance all have flexible collapsible cores.
