METI Titan Shimano XTR Pedals PD-M9100 SPD Race | Titanium axis
The Shimano XTR pedals have always been known in the racing scene for their very good durability and function. Compared to its predecessor, the footprint of the 9100 pedal has been increased by a wider, flattened pedal body. Therefore, the M9100 pedals offer improved power transmission and more control in technically demanding passages. The shape of the pedals has been optimized for adverse weather conditions. Thanks to the better self-cleaning achieved, clicking in and out does not cause any problems even on muddy track conditions.
However, the perfect function was always offset by a few grams too much. Thanks to the Meti titanium axles, this is now an end.
The optimized axle are manufactured by Meti in Italy from high-strength grade 5 titanium on modern CNC machines. While the outer bearing of two Ceramic hybrid ball bearings maintenance-free is adopted, the original plain bearings is on the inside further used. In addition to the weight saved, this construction also results in a silky smooth run. axle n are approved for a driver's weight including clothing, backpack, etc. up to 100kg.
The result of the diet is quite impressive. The pedals have lost a little more than 60g in weight and now weigh only 258g per pair. And that without having to sacrifice even a hint of their perfect function. This is what sensible tuning should look like.
