Description
MAXXIS tires High Road 700 x 25C HYPR ZK TR ONE70 Tanwall
The High Road is one of the most advanced road bike tires and is equipped with the best possible technical properties. The profile of the shoulder knobs improves cornering even further. In particular, switching to a carcass with a density of 170 TPI leads to a weight reduction of 12-15% for tube variants. With a light and supple carcass and the nine HYPR compound, which rolls fast and still generates enormous grip, the tire meets the highest demands. With the ZK puncture protection insert, Maxxis heralds a new era in terms of puncture protection.
Tubeless Ready (TR)
tube tires have many advantages: You can drive with less air pressure. This gives better traction and reduces rolling resistance. And where there is no tube , the risk of punctures is also reduced. MAXXIS TR tires are better prepared for mounting with sealant than other tubeless ready tires. The bead of the TR tires is completely covered with a rubber layer like a real UST tube . As a result, tube installation is successful for all rims with standard dimensions the first time you pump it up and with little liquid. Normal MAXXIS MTB tires can also be mounted tubeless with sealant like tires from other manufacturers, as the carcass fabric is very dense. However, only the new MAXXIS TR models are officially approved for tubeless assembly and guaranteed by MAXXIS. The tubeless assembly of other models is at your own risk.
Note: We strongly advise against the use of sealant containing ammonia. Ammonia has been shown to attack the carcass and, depending on the amount used, can weaken it by up to 30% after just a few months.
HYPR compound
The new road racing compound is made entirely of silica gel and is currently the best performing Maxxis rubber. HYPR offers 16% less rolling resistance with 23% more grip on wet roads than previous rubber compounds. While Maxxis brings the rolling resistance down and the grip up with HYPR, the mileage remains unchanged.
ONE70 (170TPI)
The number of nylon threads on one inch (=2.54cm) of tire fabric. Low numbers mean stable, heavy fabric. The higher the TPI number, the better the tire adapts to the ground and thus has a more comfortable driving behavior. In addition, the weight decreases. Maxxis always states the thread count = TPI in a carcass ply - some other tire manufacturers add the threads of all (3 to 6) carcass plies plus the puncture protection plies.
ZK puncture protection
Maxxis relies on a ZK puncture protection insert, which consists of a liquid crystal polymer fiber and heralds a new era in terms of puncture protection.
