The Swedish brand Maurten offers a variety of sports nutrition products. It was named after Mårten, a triathlete and family friend of the company's founder and entrepreneur Olof Sköld. This trial package contains Maurten Gel 100 without and with caffeine. The Gel 100 is made using hydrogel technology. This is a biopolymer matrix filled with a unique mixture of fructose and glucose (ratio 0.8:1) and enables the mount of up to 100g of carbohydrates per hour. The hydrogel is particularly well tolerated because it encapsulates carbohydrates and salts and enables the nutrients to be transported quickly into the intestines, where they are finally absorbed. One sachet of Hydrogel Gel Caf 100 contains 100mg of caffeine, which has been proven to have positive effects on alertness and can reduce perceived exertion and pain. These properties can have a positive effect on athletic performance. The gel sachets are ready for immediate consumption.
