Description
MANITOU suspension fork 27.5 +" | 29" R7 Pro 100 mm | 15x110mm BOOST 51mm Offset | black
The legendary R7 fork is back. After almost 10 years of abstinence, Manitou is finally bringing her back. And of course she can convince all along the line. Responsiveness, driving experience and comfort, everything is at a high level.
The technical finesse shows that the developers have put a lot of thought into bringing a mature and high-quality product onto the market. The Dorado Air air spring with IVA volume adjustment, the VVT damping, the Hexloc thru-axle system and the striking chassis are unique features that make the hearts of cross-country bikers beat faster. But fans of a more classic look will also get their money's worth. With the silver aluminum fork crown, the R7 suspension fork stands out from the crowd.
32mm chassis
The fork bridge that has been relocated to the rear can be installed lower than usual because the vertical distance between the tire and axle is smaller at this point. This achieves increased rigidity. That's why, contrary to the general trend, Manitou continues to use 32 mm stanchions, thereby reducing the weight.
Dorado Air spring system
Manitou's unique equalization valve inside the fork ensures the perfectly balanced pressure ratio in the positive and negative air chambers, which are filled simultaneously during inflation. This gives the spring rate a consistent feel throughout the travel.
IVA (Incremental Volume Adjustment)
This system adjusts the volume in the positive air chamber using self-supporting spacers. This allows you to adapt the spring characteristic to your needs.
VVT damping
Manitou also uses three different compression modes - Lock, Trail, Open. Depending on the lever position, the oil flows through the high-speed or low-speed channels. But even when closed, hard hits are dampened. If the system is open, the low-speed compression level is also adjusted using the red rotary knob. The rebound (or rebound) is adjusted very sensitively with 10 clicks on the lower blue wheel. By designing the damping as a cartridge, the amount of oil can be reduced and thus some weight can be saved.
Hexloc thru axle
Unlike the competition, a grub screw in the dropout on the left side pulls the thru axle into the fork. In addition, the hexagonal design prevents movements on the axle and thus increases torsional rigidity and steering precision.
One for almost everyone
The R7 suspension fork can be installed on 27.5+" and 29" bikes. However, you should pay attention to the maximum tire width.
