MAGURA MT8 SL disc brake Flatmount
Magura's MT8 SL stands for uncompromising braking power and maximum stability with minimum weight. But the lightweight in the Magura range not only scores with a top function that has been confirmed in several tests, it is also a visual highlight thanks to the use of lots of carbon on every bike. In addition, the neon yellow accents make for an aggressive look and instill a lot of respect in your opponent.
The brake levers are made with Magura's Carbolay technology, in which carbon fibers are embroidered onto a carrier material and coated with resin. This gives the ergonomic 1-finger brake levers, in addition to the extraordinary carbon structure and low weight, also outstanding strength. The transmitter unit is made of Magura's Carbotecture SL material. This contains a high proportion of carbon fibers, which are embedded in a thermoplastic matrix. Thanks to the Carboflow process, Magura can use the material in a load-optimized manner and create homogeneous surfaces.
This version is designed for Flatmount mount on the fork or frame. This standard is also becoming more and more popular in the MTB sector. The advantage is that the brake caliper sits closer to the attachment, thus increasing the rigidity. In addition, some weight can be saved.
Magura has also made the MT8 easy to use. The lever width can easily be adjusted individually on the lever. The brake pistons are magnetic for a quick pad change and thus guarantee a perfect fit of the brake pads. In addition, experienced hobbyists should have no problem bleeding the brake with the help of the Easy Bleed technology.
Due to the flip-flop design of the brake handle, the brake can be used for the front or rear wheel by shortening the brake line accordingly.
