GARMIN Upgrade Kit for Vector 1 to Vector 2 Pedal Wattmess System
Switch from the Vector 1 watt measuring pedal system to a Vector 2 system. The system is suitable for both standard cranks (12 to 15 mm) and large cranks (15 to 18 mm). As an enthusiastic cyclist, go one step further in measuring and monitoring your performance and your pedaling style.
Quickly bought, assembled and used
Extending the Vector Upgrade Kit is easy. You can assemble it in just a few minutes. No mechanic is needed and you don't have to wait long for the bike to come out of the workshop. You do not have to remove or reassemble other components, and you also save yourself the installation of additional sensors.
The secret of wattage measurement
The Garmin Vector Powermeter system measures your performance exactly where you initiate it into the bike: on the pedals. The torsion in the pedal axis is measured when pedaling. The measured torsion is compared with a factory calibration. Thanks to this direct measurement, it delivers reliable and exact data without interference sources. System-related, unlike other power meters, assembly is child's play. Simply screw on the Vector pedals, couple with an ANT + capable bike computer and the watt controlled training can begin. Therefore, the system can also be used on several wheels without any problems.
Another outstanding feature of the Vector pedals is the watt measurement using a sensor on the left and right pedal. So you can have the power distribution between left and right leg displayed while driving, or evaluate it after training with compatible software (e.g. Garmin Connect). The vector pedals can also measure and display the force distribution during a pedal revolution as well as the time you have ridden in the saddle or in the rocking step. With this data you can identify possible bad postures and dysblances and optimize your pedaling.
The power supply of the Vector 2 system is ensured by 2 commercially available CR2032 button cells for at least 175 hours of driving time. Your cycling computer warns you twenty hours before the end of the battery life. LED lights on the sensors also give you information on setting up and maintaining the system. The Vector pedals are compatible with all pedal cranks up to 44 millimeters wide and with 12-15 millimeters or 15-18 millimeters thick (2 different sensor variants). With a weight of only 23 grams per transmitter, the system brings only a very small additional weight compared to conventional racing bike pedals.
