    Article details

GARMIN Upgrade Kit for Vector 1 on Vector 2 Pedal Wattmess System

Upgrade from a Vector 1 Wattmess pedal system to a Vector 2 system. The system is suitable for standard cranks (12 to 15 mm) as well as for large pedal cranks (15 to 18 mm). As an enthusiastic cyclist, go one step further in the measurement and monitoring of your performance and your style.

      Quickly bought, installed and used
The extension of the Vector Upgrade Kit is quite simple. You can mount it in just a few minutes. No mechanic is needed and you do not have to wait long for the bike to come out of the workshop. You do not have to dismantle or replace any other components, and you also save the installation of additional sensors.

      The secret of watts measurement
The Garmin Vector Powermeter system measures your performance exactly where you put it into the wheel: on the pedals. The torsion in the pedal axis is measured during kicking. The measured distortion is compared with a factory calibration. This direct measurement provides reliable and accurate data without interference sources. In contrast to other powermeters, the assembly is a child's play. Simply screw the Vector pedals, connect with an ANT + capable bike computer and the watt-controlled training can begin. Therefore, the system can also be used without problems on several wheels.

Another outstanding feature of the Vector Pedals is the watts measurement via a sensor on the left and the right pedal. This allows you to display the power distribution between the left and the right leg during the trip, or after training, evaluate compatible software (eg Garmin Connect). Also the force distribution during a pedal revolution as well as the time you have driven in the saddle or in the pedal can measure and display the Vector pedals. With this data you can recognize any malfunctions and dysballs and optimize your kick on the bike.

The power supply of the Vector 2 system ensures 2 commercially available CR2032 button cells for at least 175 hours driving time. Twenty hours before the end of the battery run, your bike computer warns you. LED lights on the sensors also give you information on setting up and maintaining the system. Compatible are the Vector pedals with all pedal cranks up to 44 millimeters wide and with 12-15 millimeters or 15-18 millimeters of thickness (2 different sensor variants). With a weight of only 23 grams per transmitter, the system offers only a very low weight compared to conventional racing bike pedals.
