With a size of 2.6 "(6.6 cm), the touchscreen color display of the 830 has become larger with the same device dimensions. It shows the information clearly and is easy to read in all lighting conditions.
Improved processor
The route calculation on the Edge 830 is significantly faster and smoother than on its predecessor. The map display and the general feedback of the device is also more direct.
Longer battery life
A battery life of 20 hours and up to 40 hours in energy saving mode makes the Edge 830 the perfect companion for multi-day tours. The runtime can be significantly increased with the compatible Garmin Charge battery packs.
Numerous navigation functions
With its pre-installed Garmin card on the 16GB internal memory, you can also find your way around in foreign regions. The popularity routing function integrates the most popular route sections into the route guidance. Thanks to integrated Trailforks content, you will also get your money's worth with MTB navigation.
Comprehensive performance analysis
The Edge 830 has the same evaluation options for your physiological data as the top model Edge 1030. In addition, a new training balance and power curve analysis have been integrated. With the Autoclimb function, your Garmin automatically recognizes when you are climbing and shows you pre-selected data such as the rate of climb or the altitude. Users of the Trainingpeaks software can now synchronize their training data directly.
Bike alarm function
This function informs you via smartphone when your bike is moving in your absence. The perfect theft protection!
If you missed a call or an SMS, you can simply send a predefined message, for example "I'll be home soon". With the LiveTrack and GroupTrack functions, you can let friends and family, or even your passengers, follow your tour in real time. If your passengers are a little faster or slower, you no longer have to pick up your phone or worry. By sending messages between cyclists, it is possible to send predefined messages from your Edge 830 to the edge of your passengers. Uploads to Garmin Connect are carried out automatically.
