FULCRUM wheelset 28" Sharq GR Carbon Center Lock
The development of the Sharq GR was the result of intensive analysis of race data and experience from international gravel races. The aim was to develop a wheel that enables high speeds on demanding surfaces and at the same time offers more control, precision and a noticeable aerodynamic advantage. The focus of the development was the new 2-Wave rim with a 30 millimeter rim width and mini-hook, which is optimally matched to wide tires. It improves their shape, enlarges the contact area and increases stability. The variable rim profile with a height of 47 and 52 millimetres optimizes aerodynamics, reduces susceptibility to crosswinds and minimizes air resistance.
The rims are made from high-quality FF100 carbon fibers. Thanks to the closed, holeless rim bed, no tape is required for tubeless mounting. Fulcrum has also broken new ground with the spokes and has developed the A3RO steel spokes with a width of 3 millimetres and a thickness of 0.8 millimetres especially for the Sharq wheelsets, with which the wheels achieve considerable aerodynamic advantages. The spoke seats on the hubs and the spoke base have been specially optimized to prevent the spokes from twisting. To ensure the long-term stability of the spoke structure, the wheels are constructed with a 2:1 spoke ratio without any contact points between the spokes.
