Completely revised for the new season, the X2 double chamber damper is an absolute milestone on the damper market. Thanks to the separately adjustable rebound and compression levels in the high-speed and low-speed range, this damper can be adapted to the most varied of downhill courses in order to offer you a performance that you have never experienced before.
In the previous model, the air chamber has already been optimized so that it can be filled with a maximum air pressure of 300 PSI. This lowers the risk of a bottoming out in the case of extreme jumps. Furthermore, the design of the valve has been changed in order to avoid air loss during inflation. New low-friction seals and the optimization of the internal construction for greater torsional rigidity also improve the already sensitive response behavior.
A smaller-sized expansion tank enables the damper to be integrated more easily in various frame constructions.
On the damper, you can easily switch between an open and closed operating mode using a lever. This makes it easier to start up hills on level ground or to ride out of the saddle. When switching, the respective individual settings of the compression and rebound stage are not changed and are therefore always available. The GRIP 2 damping system adopted by the suspension forks enables the optimal adjustment of your chassis.

EVOL
The air chamber called EVOL with increased volume for the negative air chamber. EVOL stands for "Extra Volume". This adjustment should also have a positive effect on the suspension quality by reducing the breakaway torque of the damper. This leads to better traction and softer response. At the same time, the characteristic curve can be raised a little in the middle spring travel range, which is thus more linear. The rear end with the Fox Float damper should be much more powerful.

Variable Valve Control (VVC)
Fox has packed all of its knowledge into this cushioning. Based on the GRIP 2 damper of the suspension forks, the high and low speed compression stage and the high and low speed rebound stage can each be set separately. The setup has to be carried out carefully, but afterwards it offers endless driving fun on any surface.
With the integrated Variable Valve Control (VVC) system, the sensitivity of the HighSpeed rebound stage is varied via a leaf spring and not by changing the preload. This requires a finely adjustable function and modification.
In addition, attention was paid to the use of low-friction and coated materials throughout the development process. This allows a very fine response and increases comfort significantly.

MCU bottom-out bumper
This end stop made of Micro Cellular Urethane foam does not absorb any oil and improves the spring characteristic in the end progression. The X2 Float and DHX2 dampers now harmonize perfectly in bikes with linear rear triangle kinematics.

KASHIMA COAT
The Kashima coating for a smooth driving experience is exclusively available only from FOX. It offers an outstanding overall performance, ensures minimal friction and optimal responsiveness with maximum durability.

Metric installation dimensions
By introducing metric installation dimensions, the damper manufacturers want to standardize the standards. There shouldn't be so many different variants in the future. In addition, a similar linear gradation of the various length and stroke dimensions is sought, as is already the case with suspension forks. Incidentally, these dampers offer more space inside, because the hole spacing has usually been slightly increased for the same length of stroke. This allows the function and reliability to be optimized.
