EXTRALITE rear hub HyperRear2 + 6-hole 12x142 mm thru axle | Freewheel SRAM XD
The HyperRear rear hub from Extralite sets standards in all matters. Light, beautiful, reliable and convertible to different axle type standards. The design of the hub is optimized by means of modern simulation technology and, with the organic oversized shape, offers an optimal flow of forces in the material. The spoke flanges are designed for straight spokes (straight pull) in order to enable the most direct and straightforward flow of forces possible.
The best possible optimization was of course also carried out with the freewheel mechanism. The freewheel is implemented via a toothed pulley that engages directly in a toothing introduced into the freewheel. In order to safely transfer even the highest forces, all 60 teeth always mesh. This not only results in a noticeably smaller free travel until the frictional connection takes place, but also an incomparable sound. This extremely direct power transmission offers clear advantages, especially when starting hard or in technically difficult terrain.
The second generation of the HyperRear hub is only an update of two details. The seal between the hub body and freewheel has been completely redesigned and now develops an even higher sealing effect with constant, low friction. In addition, the toothing between the pulley and hub body has been redesigned. If the toothing in the hub body is worn out, it is now possible to replace the toothed washer in order to restore full functionality!
