EXTRALITE hub rear CyberRear SPD-3 Road Disc | 12x142 mm thru axle
It has long been known that the Italians create small CNC works of art around Extralite. With this new evolutionary level of cyberhubs, they have outdone themselves again. The hub body is extremely complex CNC machined from high-strength 7075TX aluminum. This rotates around a 17 mm aluminum axis with double-sealed deep groove ball bearings. The axial play can be fine-tuned using the micro-tuner. Another new feature is the use of titanium teeth with 32 teeth, which are controlled by two pawls in the hub body.
The cyber hubs were designed for use with straight pull spokes. Advantages are a better distribution of the loads due to the disc brake, a somewhat stiffer wheel and the minimization of spoke breaks. The improved flange geometry ensures an optimal spoke angle and can now be used with higher spoke tensions. All the use of Italian brain fat results in a 146g light disc hub with 6-hole mount , which allows the technically-minded racing cyclist & crosser to drop their jaws down.

Extralite CyberRear freewheel mechanisms are only suitable for road and cyclocross use, not for MTB! The gear ratio must be at least 1.00. Shorter gear ratios can lead to increased torque and damage the freewheel mechanism!
